Colors

Gracious God,
thank you for the colors of my life:
for the red of Ryder's hair,
the blue of Calleigh's eyes,
the blazing whiteness of Miles's smile
and the pink of Mia's constantly moving mouth.

Thank you for the green of fresh-cut grass,
the sandy shade of a baseball infield,
azure Spring skies,
and April's "pink moon."

Thank you for forsythia blooms
and crabapple blossoms,
crocuses and daffodils.

Thank you for black coffee, blue jeans, brown mulch, "Cincinnati Reds" jerseys, and red-breasted robins, in Jesus' name, amen.
