Abba, Father,
how can I judge my brother or sister
for the very sins I have committed,
for the wayward paths I myself have taken?
Am I not the chief of sinners?
Am I not unworthy of your grace?
Am I not an undeserving recipient
of your kindness and mercy?
Save me, Lord,
from compounding my sin
with a superior
and self-righteous attitude.
Save me, who knows what it is to be forgiven,
from withholding forgiveness
from anyone,
in Jesus' name, amen.
