Thank you, Lord, for the gift of this day, and for the health, energy, sensibility, nourishment, and all other resources and blessing you have given me to use and spend in it. Teach me, Lord, the grace and skill of living in the now and not in the "then," whether that "then" which is behind or that which is ahead. "I am too much i' the sun," Hamlet said; I am too much in the "then." Help me walk in the light of each day as you give it to me, and neither offend you nor tax myself by robbing today to pay either yesterday or tomorrow, in Jesus' strong and sufficient name, amen.
